2014 Reunion Overview

The Anzio Beachhead Veterans of World War II extend a cordial invitation to any veteran of the Anzio Beachhead Campaign of 1944 and to their extended families including children and grand-children to attend our 2014 reunion. It has been 70 years since the days on the beachead in early 1944. These reunions offer a time for those who were there to reminisce, and for those that were not there, to learn of and appreciate the sacrifices these men and women have made for our country. We would love to have as many Veterans and Family Members as possible.

As mentioned in our last newsletter, this will be our last reunion. This was a very difficult decision for your Board to make. Many hours were spent discussing this situation, but the fact remains that, due to health, age and finances, many of our members are not able to attend these reunions. In the past year, three of our board members have passed away, making it very difficult for this organization to continue to function efficiently.

In an effort to have as many veterans as possible attend our final reunion, the Board of Directors has unanimously approved that the organization will subsidize to cost of the reunion events for every veteran and one guest. That is, each VETERAN and one person accompanying the veteran will not have to pay for the Nashville City Tour, The Grand Ole Opry or the General Jackson Luncheon Cruise. Use the Event Line with veteran + 1 indicated on the Reservation Form.

In addition, all attendees will receive a special coin commemorating this reunion and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Rome. This is a great opportunity to meet "old buddies", and all of "THE GREATEST GENERATION".

Remember - all registration forms are due by APRIL 20, 2014 SEE Y'ALL IN NASHVILLE

Please note that Hotel Reservations and the Event Reservations are separate items and need to be addressed individually.

Please go to the Hotel Information page to make your room reservations. Note that although the reunion runs from Sunday June 1st until Wednesday June 4th, 2014, reservations may be made at reduced rates, based on availability, for several days earlier or later for those wishing to spend more time in Nashville.

For our reunion events we have once again teamed up with Military Reunion Planners to organize a reunion venue that will provide times to get together and share our mutual experiences, visit some of Nashville, Tenneessee's great attractions, relax on a river cruise, and enjoy a banquet where we will toast our fallen brothers and sisters. For more information about the planned events and the daily reunion schedule please go to the Reunion Events page.

Please fill out a Reunion Reservation Form for your party to indicate which events you plan to be part of and for your dinner selection for the Banquet Dinner. Please note the due dates when making your reservations.
